According to a statement posted on Facebook, the country’s Ministry of Information disclosed on Monday that Hamdok had been placed under house arrest by “military forces.”

The Information Ministry have not stopped dishing out information concerning the development as it revealed that the arrest of multiple government ministers and officials have been carried out, coupled with the presence of military men at Hamdok’s Khartoum home.

The nearby city of Omdurman where the Sudan’s state broadcaster is located is not left out amongst the places that have been combed for arrest by Military forces.

An evidence of this gesture, is the arrest and detaining of workers, ministry stated.

On the reaction of Sudan’s but had called on the people to take to the streets in protest.

At the moment, sources have disclosed that Sudan’s leader is under pressure to release a statement in “support of the takeover”

Meanwhile, the ministry said in the post on a Facebook post that:

“Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, in a message from his house arrest, asks the Sudanese to adhere to peaceful (means of protest) and occupy the streets to defend their revolution.”
