Talented Canadian teenage tennis player, Leylah Fernandez has reached the US Open final after beating Aryna Sabalenka.
Fernandez, 19, did not only cruise past Sabalenka but did it in a grandstyle by shocking the high-ranked opponent in second seed.
The next plan for her is to face 18-year-old Briton Emma Raducanu in the final of the US Open, which the finalist will be teenagers for the first time.
In all of her feats in the game, the 73 rd ranked Fernandez will be remembered for beating defending champion, Naomi Osaka and fifth seed Elina Svitolina.
The remarkable history can also boost her confidence as she meets Raducanu who beat Greek 17th seed Maria Sakkari.
In reaction to her victory, Fernandez who displayed the zeal to win, expressed her herself with some comments. “My mental toughness has come from years and years of hard work and blood. On-court and off-court sacrifices,” Fernandez said.
“I just I really wanted to be in the final. I fought for every point.”
