English Premier League club, Arsenal have signed Japanese defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna.
The Gunners have decided to let right-back Hector Bellerin go on loan to Spanish side, Real Betis while winger Reiss Nelson has completed a season-long loan move to Dutch side, Feyenoord.
The 22-year-old dynamic player who has been signed for £16m on a four-year deal has the capacity to either play at the centre-back or right-back.
Tomiyasu who has featured just once for Bologna this campaign has made 31 Serie A appearances last season.
The development has triggered some positive comments from Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta. He said, “Takehiro is a strong defender with good experience in Serie A and at international level.
“He is a versatile defender with great defensive qualities, high technical ability and composure on the ball. He will be an important member of our squad.”
Meanwhile, Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares have started at right-back in the north London.
