Real Madrid defender, Raphael Varane is set to join Manchester United, after an agreement was recently reached.

With an agreement of an initial fee of £34m, the multiple Champions League winner has agreed terms on a four-year contract with the option for another 12 months, which could rise to £42m.

 On fitness, United revealed that the transfer would be completed, “subject to a medical and to player terms being finalised”.

On his profile, Varane has made 360 appearances for Real, clinched four champions league and 79 caps

In reaction to the development, a club statement was released concerning the move of the  World Cup winner.

“Real Madrid wants to show all its affection to Raphael Varane and his family and wishes him good luck in this new stage of his professional career,”

“Our club thanks you for your professionalism and exemplary behaviour during the 10 seasons in which you defended our shirt.”

Apart from Varane, United have also completed the signing of England winger Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
