Spurs have been able to maintain their pursuit of European football after the win against relegated Sheffield United.
A superb lifting of the ball over the top by Serge Aurier was good enough for Bale to flick in the opener. Interestingly, the right-back was also instrumental to the third in the second half.
Bale was played in by Son Heung-min on the break for his second – a thumping strike which flew into the top right corner.
Son increased the goals tally for Spurs after sealing the impressive Spurs performance with a fantastic fourth goal.
Son would have registered a goal for Spurs in the five minutes into the second half, but the South Korean also had a goal disallowed for offside.
The Welsh international who was impressed with his performance after starting back-to-back Premier League games said he was “feeling good”.
He said, “You have to take your chances when they come,”
“I just needed to play games and get a run of games and I’m doing that now. I’m happy and when I’m happy I play well.”
