Barcelona on Wednesday beat 10-man Sevilla 3-0 after extra time in a Copa del Rey semi-final.
The match which was full of a lot of interesting moments and incidents, ended with Barca overturning a two-goal first-leg deficit.
Young talented player, Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring for Barca after losing their first leg 2-0.
With a diving header earlier on in the additional 30 minutes, Martin Braithwaite was able to get a decisive goal for Barca.
Fernando was sent off while Lucas Ocampos missed a penalty for Sevilla. A chance came for Ronald Koeman’s boys to score through Gerard Pique, which he dramatically levelled the tie at 2-2 in added time.
Barca will face either Athletic Bilbao or Levante in the final, while they are aiming for a record-extending 31st Copa del Rey win with their last-four tie 1-1 after the first leg in Bilbao.
Before the match, there were allegations of improper management and business corruption which resulted into the arrest of former president, Josep Maria Bartomeu on Monday. The issue also triggered the raid of the club’s Camp Nou offices.
On the way forward for the club’s leadership, a new leader is expected to emerge at Camp Nou through an electoral process on Sunday. While the comeback occurred, the three candidates, Joan Laporta, Victor Font and Toni Freixa, were all present in the stands to witness it.
