Lithuanian club, FK Zalgiris has signed Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi a one-year deal with an option of another contract.

Talented player, Onazi joins Philip Otele to be the second Nigerian at the club.

His signing at the club becomes Onazi’s fifth career club he has played for, after he parted company with SonderjyskE in January by mutual agreement after four months.

His previous clubs were, Lazio, Trabzonspor, Denzilispor and SonderjyskE.

After the signing, his agent Ayo Makinwa made coments on Instagram Thursday night.

Makinwa said, “Happy to announce Onazi’s signing to FK Zalgiris. The comeback is always stronger than the setback. Good luck with your new teammates Ona.”

On his national duty history, Onazi who made his debut for the Eagles against Liberia in October 2012 has been capped 51 times by the three-time African champions.

Due to fitness issues Onazi encountered, he has not featured for Gernot Rohr’s side since 2018.
