Talented female tennis player, Naomi Osaka has beaten Serena Williams to advance into the Australian Open final Thursday to stay on track for a fourth Grand Slam title.
After achieving this feat, the Japanese has kept Serena Williams’ dream of a record-equalling 24th major title on hold.
Osaka’s third seed went past the American veteran 6-3, 6-4 on Rod Laver Arena in front of thousands of fans allowed back in after Melbourne lifted a snap five-day lockdown.
Osaka made comments after the win. She said, “I was really nervous and scared in the beginning and then I sort of eased my way into it,”
“It’s just always an honour to play her and I just didn’t want to go out really dud. I just wanted to try my best.”
On her next game, Osaka will face either American Jennifer Brady or Czech Karolina Muchova on Saturday for another Slam title after her success at Flushing Meadows in 2018 and last year, and Melbourne in 2019.
