Female Tennis Star, Serena Williams has reached the Australian Open fourth round after beating Anastasia Potapova.

Before achieving this feat, Williams had a slow start but overcame it.

Williams who is bidding for a record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title, came through 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 against the 101st-ranked Russian.

The talented Tennis player had to save two set points before dialling back in to win, had trailed 5-3 in an error-strewn first set.

After a cagey match against Ons Jabeur of Tunisia, Japanese professional tennis player Naomi Osaka also advanced.

Interestingly, the Japanese prevailed 6-3 6-2, after her opponent struggled get it right in the game.

While Williams plays seventh seed Aryna Sabalenka for a place in the quarter-finals, two-time Grand Slam champion, Garbine Muguruza will be playing against Osaka as the next opponent.

She will face a tough test against big-hitting Belarusian Sabalenka, who beat American Ann Li 6-3 6-1.
