Tottenham Hotspurs semi-final win over Brentford in the Carabao Cup competition has given Jose Mourinho’s boys a deserved place in the finals.

This development occurred after talented players, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko registered their names on the score sheet in the interesting match.

If Spurs clinches the trophy, a new record will be set at the club- it will end Tottenham’s trophy drought of 13 years.

Surprisingly, Spurs have not claimed silverware since they beat Chelsea in the 2008 League Cup final and they were made to work hard before seeing off the Championship promotion chasers in this one-leg semi-final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Mourinho wins the trophy with Spurs, he will become the third manager to reach the final with three different teams after winning  the cup on four occasions he has a golden opportunity at his disposal to make it five.

Meanwhile, Mourinho has not making comments after the scintillating performance of his boys against Brentford.

In his words,  “I came to England in 2004 and I remember that in that period I had to learn the meaning of the cups here and I always took it seriously,”

“If there is any secret it’s to take it seriously. To respect what English football is, what English clubs are, what English lower divisions are.’’
