Talented Manchester United player Luke Shaw will not be featured in the Red Devil’s FA Cup semi final with Chelsea.
This is because he has failed to recover from a twisted ankle, but Brandon Williams is expected to be fit, Evening Standard reports.
So far on his injury, Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Shaw is likely to stay longer on the side lines.
Shaw picked up the injury in Monday’s draw with Southampton, and despite hopes he would be ready in time for Sunday’s Wembley clash.
Another option United is thinking about is Williams, who suffered a gash above his eye in that game, which saw him miss Thursday’s win against Crystal Palace.
On goalkeeping as the club’s traditional goalkeeper, Sergio Romero is not really on the mind of Solskjaer, as he is refusing to offer any guarantees that he will hold his place in such position.
While making comments about his chances of getting a shirt, he said:
“I don’t think Luke’s going to make it,” “Brandon Williams hopefully will be able to train today and be available.
“The team is not selected yet. Jesse and Sergio both have a good chance of being involved.”
“Jesse is a part of the club. He has worked really hard and he deserves his chance to come back in. We know his qualities. He has different qualities to other players and he knows we value him.”
If United want to book their place in a first final under Solskjaer they will have to beat Chelsea for a fourth time this season.
