Wolverhampton Wanderers have defeated Everton to get a home victory which has increased their chances of getting a place in next season’s Champions League.
It was an interesting achievement for Wanderers as they bounced back from consecutive defeats with a victory through goals either side of half-time and a game-sealing third from Diogo Jota with 15 minutes to go.
The first goal came from Raul Jimenez from the penalty spot in first-half injury time, after Lucas Digne fouled Daniel Podence
The second came through a header by Leander Dendoncker in just a minute after the restart before Jota lashed in from just inside the box to put the game beyond the visitors.
Concerning points and position on the table so far, Wolves are back up to sixth in the table; and they are putting so much efforts to earn a place in Europe’s top club competition next season.
Interestingly, they are three points behind Manchester United in fifth place.
