A football tournament is set to be hosted where Brazilian Legend, Ronaldinho Is Imprisoned.
Ronaldinho is at the moment in a Paraguayan prison for allegedly attempting to enter the country using a false passport.
Reports from Givemesport reveal that the former Fifa World Player of the Year has been accused of using documentation that suggests that he’s a naturalized Paraguay citizen while travelling alongside his brother and agent Roberto de Assis Moreira.
On the update of the case, many expected the former Barcelona midfielder to escape with little more than a fine and a warning as he was taken in for questioning and co-operated with police.
Ronaldinho and his brother have now been taken to Asuncion prison, after a court in Paraguay refused his bail and rejected appeals for house arrest.
But there are more perspectives to the case as the 2005 Ballon d’Or winner has been pictured smiling in the facility, where he could reportedly be held for up to six months.
Reports from Brazilian newspaper Extra, a futsal indoor tournament will be hosted by the prison next Monday in which Ronaldinho will be spectating.
Commissioner Blas Vera also made comments. While speaking to Extra, he said, “We don’t expect Ronaldinho to participate, but we would like him to attend,”
