As  speculations hit the airwaves that Club legend Xavier Hernandez wants to take over as coach at Barcelona, the former Barca player has also given his conditions to manage the Spanish club.

The former Barca player who is presently managing Al-Sadd football club in Qatar was thought of as a future manager of the Catalan side when former coach Ernesto Valverde was sacked.

According to 90 Min, while the club’s interest in appointing Xavi was kept as a secret, the football legend has stated eight reasons why he rejected Barca’s advances.

The first of all of them according to El Larguero is that, he wanted to defer his arrival to the summer.

The 2010 World Cup winner is also looking for a clean slate to work with upon his arrival without immediately having to negotiate a winter transfer window.

In the end the club wouldn’t budge on that front and wanted him to join in January, something Xavi wasn’t keen to do, with the club legend.

Reports from sources also disclosed that, Xavi have disagreed over the level of control which would be handed over.

There are also reports that he wants a final say over virtually all sporting matters – namely transfers – while the club’s hierarchy wanted him installed in a strictly coaching capacity.
