Cameroon have been beaten by Tajikistan 1-0 in the ongoing Under Fifa 17 Africa World Cup in Brazil.
As a result of this loss, Cameroon remains the only African team at the tournament in Brazil that have not won their opening match.
Nigeria, Angola and Senegal who are African representatives have all won their opening matches.
So far for Tajikistan, this win now becomes their second ever at a U-17 World Cup, as their first occurred, twelve years ago against USA.
The Cameroonians were beaten by a penalty.
The subs Zaynidin Rakhimov, Tajikistan’s head coach made, was a perfect one as Amadoni Kamolov and Rustam Soirov came off the bench and combined to win the penalty kick that sealed the game.
Cameroon, after 16 years had another opportunity in this tournament which turned out to be woeful.
As Tajikistan face Spain, Cameroon will prepare to battle Argentina on 31 October 2019.
