Chile international Alexis Sanchez has completed a loan move to Inter Milan after a miserable 19 months at Manchester United.

Sanchez hopes to resurrect his fading career following his move from Arsenal in January 2018.

Sanchez completed a medical in Milan on Wednesday and has signed a 10-month deal, which will see United subsidise a portion of his £450,000-a-week salary while he is at the San Siro.

It is understood United will pay less than half of his wages, despite claims they would foot the majority of the bill.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sanctioned the departure of the 30-year-old, even though it leaves him without any senior cover for first-choice strikers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford

That speaks volumes about Sanchez’s status at United after scoring just five goals in 45 appearances.

Solskjaer had already given his blessing to Romelu Lukaku’s £73million move to Inter earlier this month.

It is understood United have no plans to bring in an emergency replacement for either forward, with the club able to sign free agents outside of the transfer window.

Instead Solskjaer is prepared to wait until next summer to strengthen his attack, with Jadon Sancho his leading target.
