English singer, Sir Elton John’s Covid-enforced thunderbolt album, The Lockdown Sessions has gotten the number one spot in UK.

With this feat, the music Icon’s album has scored his eighth UK number one album.

The record which features collaborations with renowned musicians Dua Lipa, Stevie Nicks, Gorillaz and Lil Nas X, was recorded when his farewell tour was postponed as a result of the pandemic.

Considering the restrictions and regulations which occurred as a result of the deadly pandemic, many duets took place over Zoom, while others took place in the studio.

The Popstar stated that he ended up singing with artists “separated by glass screens”.

Another unique thing about the album is the unveiling of bejewelled Elton John face-mask of the album which John wore, to cover his nose.

It was a remarkable moment when he disclosed in a statement announcing the album.

In his words,  “I realised there was something weirdly familiar about working like this,”

“At the start of my career, in the late ’60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that.
