Female tennis star, Serena Williams is ready to compete in ladies’ singles, of Wimbledon after indicating that she is returning to the grass courts of SW19 when the tournament kicks off later this month.
This development was disclosed by Wimbledon Tuesday, which makes her comeback at Wimbledon, a year after her last match in any competition.
The Seven-time Wimbledon champion has been handed a wild card entry to arguably the most famous tennis tournament in the world.
While sharing her thoughts on Instagram on Tuesday, the talented tennis star wrote:
“SW and SW19,” “It’s a date. 2022, see you there.” SW19 is the postcode district in Southwest London incorporating Wimbledon, among other boroughs.
She did not only remind tennis fans, enthusiasts and social media users that she is ready, she also practically expressed her readiness to come back with some gestures, standing on a grass court with white sneakers on.
Due to injury, the 23-time major champion, has not played competitively and last reached the Wimbledon final in 2019 where she lost to Simona Halep, who now works with her former coach, Patrick Mouratoglou.
