Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Returns to Senate After Suspension

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Tuesday, made her return to the Senate chambers after completing a six-month suspension.

She was sighted at the plenary session as the upper chamber reconvened following a 10-week recess, with Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin presiding.

Her return brings an end to a suspension that stirred wide public debate earlier in the year.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended in March 2025 for six months over alleged misconduct during her protest against the reassignment of her seat by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20.

The reinstatement follows the lifting of restrictions placed on her office, which had been sealed by the Sergeant-at-Arms during the period of suspension.
