Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Declares Support for President Tinubu, Joins APC

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the Nigerian leader as a man of courage, conviction, and vision.

Murray-Bruce wrote on his facebook page on Wednesday adding that he had known President Tinubu since 1998 and asserted that the President is not driven by applause but by results.

“For the first time in our nation’s history, we have a President who truly understands finance, who sees the economy not as a political slogan, but as a living organism that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed

to breathe,” he said.

The senator praised the administration’s economic reforms, noting that although painful, they lay the foundation for long-term prosperity.

He highlighted Tinubu’s policies in security, monetary reforms, and infrastructure development, commending what he called a “systematic dismantling” of insecurity, the professionalization of the Central Bank, deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector, and renewed foreign investor confidence.

“Our foreign policy is again respected. Our fuel supply is deregulated. We will never again live through the humiliation of fuel scarcity. The numbers are beginning to speak, investments are returning, and the world is watching Nigeria rise again,” Murray-Bruce stated.

The former lawmaker also cited the administration’s infrastructural projects — including road networks, modernized ports and airports, and new housing schemes — as critical drivers of national development.

Acknowledging the hardship currently faced by many families, Murray-Bruce argued that “reform is never painless,” adding that “it is in these moments of sacrifice that nations are reborn.”

He concluded by announcing his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring it a move driven by a belief in progress rather than politics.

“I choose to stand with that vision. I choose to stand with reform. I choose to stand with the future,” he affirmed.

Murray-Bruce predicted that if President Tinubu serves a full eight-year term, Nigeria would witness “phenomenal growth.”
