The senate on Thursday postponed the laying of report on the 2017 appropriation bill to Tuesday next week.
The Committees on Appropriations in the senate and House of Representatives had planned to present their reports today, while the presentation was listed on the order paper for the plenary.
But the Majority Leader of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan announced that both versions of the report were still being harmonised.        

Meanwhile financial  analysts are calling for the quick passage of the 2017 budget ,
They said that the delays would further dampen  investors confidence, and reduce level of performance
They linked the country’s prosperity to a cordial relationship between the legislature and the executive.

Also the senate has urged law enforcement agencies to enforce the use of pedestrian bridges.
The senate also asked the government to provide pedestrian bridges across major expressways  and bus stops.
