Fire has burnt Bovas Filling Station in Iseyin, Oyo State Monday.

While the fire was burning, several people who would have been dead, escaped, The Punch reports.

While an inquiry  was made on the development, a reliable source revealed that when there was a spark when the tanker was discharging fuel at the station in the Oluwole area of the town, Iseyin-Saki Road, which triggered the inferno.

Efforts were made to combat the fire, before the arrival of firemen workers at the station, and those in the neighbourhood reacted to salvage the situation.

On casualties and injuries, the Oyo State Chief Fire Officer, Mr Moshood Adewuyi, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that deaths and injuries were not recorded.

While making comments on the development, Mr. Adewuyi said, “The fire incident happened around 6pm on Monday while a tanker was discharging its content. We thank God that it was just in adjacent direction, about 400 metres away from the affected filling station. The canopy of the filling station and part of the office on the premises were torched.”
