An uncompleted two storey building located along Jericho/Eleyele road Ibadan on Tuesday evening collapsed leaving eight people working on the site injured.
An eye witness, who was also one of the workers at the site, Kazeem Adebayo said that work was still ongoing on the building before the unfortunate incident.
According to him, the workers had complained about the poles holding the decking as not strong enough to hold it but the observation was turned down by the site engineer.
The eight persons wounded have been taken to Jericho Specialist Hospital for treatment.
While speaking on the incident, Olatunji Bolu who was a representative of the Oyo State Architectural Registration Council of Nigeria said that the body was still accessing the incident to know the causes and how to find a solution to it.
The Oyo State Physical Planing and Urban Development has sealed the site, ordering the stoppage of work at the site till further notice.
