Rival cult members have killed nine persons in Awka, Anambra State on Sunday.

It was gathered that the clash was a fallout of a disagreement between the two cult groups during the state’s Imo Awka festival held about two weeks ago.

A source told our correspondent that two members of the cult groups had threatened to attack each other during the festival.

However on Sunday, the cultists threw Awka into chaos as the bodies of their victims littered the ground.

Meanwhile,  the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Haruna Mohammed said that the Command has embarked on an aggressive manhunt for the perpetrators of  the killings.
