Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo on Wednesday expressed his joy for becoming a year older on his 61st birthday.

It was a moment of excitement for the veteran in the Nigerian movie industry who took to Instagram to appreciate some special people (family, friends, business partners) and shared photos of himself.

While acknowledging them in the caption, he wrote:  “the hands in the creative industry that have given me so much joy and opportunities to shoot my shot!”.

“This is 61 and counting! Super grateful and thankful for God’s grace upon my life. Birthdays are a chance to look back and forward and all I see is God’s grace upon the life of this shy Warri boy that said yes to life,” the rest of his message read.

Going memory lane on his career, Mofe-Damijo has achieved a lot in more than forty years of acting in the movie industry.

He has won multiple awards and starred in many movies. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016. he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in In 2005.

From 2009 to 2015, he worked as a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Delta State .

Mofe-Damijo is currently married to former TV personality, Jumobi Adegbesan. He was married to journalist/publisher and talk show host May Ellen ‘MEE’ Ezekiel, who died in 1996.

Mofe-Damijo has five children, two with his current wife and three from his previous marriage.
