The House of  Representatives is set to investigate alleged diversion  of donor funds meant for Internally Displace Persons in the North East.

A number of international  communities and donor organizations had publicly declared monetary support for the rehabilitation of IDPs in the north east, but funds meant for this purpose cannot be accounted for.

This came as resolution, following a motion on matters of urgent public importance by Hon. Aliyu Isa (PDP-Gombe). on ‘Need to Investigate the Alleged Diversion of Donor Funds Meant for the Internally Displaced Persons.

According to Isa,  despite the achievements recorded by the military in the fight against insurgency in the North-East, many IDPs were yet to return back to their towns and villages.

The house thus resolved to inveatigate how the funds were disbursed and spent.
