The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Sunday, led a protest to stop insecurity and killings in Nigeria.
The protest which occurred after the church’s monthly thanksgiving service at its National Headquarters in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, was a reaction to the recent killings that has been taking place in Nigeria.
A major area that pastor Adeboye visited, after leaving the RCCG headquarters in Ebute Metta was Atan Cemetery in Yaba metropolis.
Before the protest, Pastor Adeboye who was concerned about the recent killings and insecurity in Nigeria asked God to have mercy on Nigeria as a country.
Pastor Adeboye also went ahead to lead in prayers concerning the killings and Insecurity, asking that there should be peace and security of lives in Nigeria.
He said, ”God sees all things and knows where the terrorists are hiding, we pray that God sends His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country.”
Pastor Adeboye also instructed all members of RCCG churches in Nigeria to go out for a prayer walk which also took the form of a peaceful protest, after their Sunday service.
‘No to further killings’, ‘We Say No to Shedding of Blood’, amongst others; were the phrases written on various placards that members of the various RCCG parishes held, during the prayer walk.
The general overseer of RCCG also charged the Federal and State governments, concerning their responsibility of securing the lives and properties of her citizens.
