Victims of Singer, R. Kelly have made various comments after the singer was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday, for sex trafficking.
The women who were grieved, expressed their grievances as they addressed the R&B star in court, describing how he had “destroyed so many people’s lives” after they were abused.
One survivor while speaking with so much emotion, told the disgraced star in the New York hearing that “Do you remember that?”
“You made me do things that broke my spirit. I literally wished I would die because of how low you made me feel,”
Another victim narrated her experience, telling the court that Kelly victimised her after she attended one of his concerts at the age of 17.
Speaking further, she claimed she was scared, which was her reason she didn’t speak up at the time. “I was afraid, naïve and didn’t know to handle the situation,”
“Silence is a very lonely place.”
The talented music star heard seven impact statements from his victims in court shortly before he was jailed for racketeering and sex trafficking crimes.
