Queens Enter the Pitch at Miss Universe Nigeria Camp
The Festival Hotel, Festac, came alive on Day Three of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 camp as the 22 contestants traded their heels for boots in a spirited novelty football match.
What started as a light-hearted game soon turned into a fierce competition that mirrored the intensity of their ongoing preparation for the grand finale scheduled for Saturday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The match, anchored by sports journalist Blessing Nwosu, saw the contestants split into Team Universe and Team Festival Mall. After a thrilling contest filled with energy, passion, and laughter, Team Universe edged out their opponents with a narrow 5–4 victory, proving that beauty queens can dazzle both on the runway and on the field.
This year’s organisers introduced the football game to the camp itinerary as a nod to Nigeria’s recent dominance in women’s sports. The Super Falcons had just lifted the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, while D’Tigress clinched the continent’s basketball crown the same month. The activities may also serve as a way to spotlight hidden talents among the delegates.
Beyond football, camp life has been vibrant.
Day One was marked by arrivals, introductions, and orientation, capped with a dinner at Kabachi Chinese Restaurant where the queens bonded over fine dining, cocktails, and dance.
Day Two focused on wellness and media, featuring a health session by Quincy Wellness, diary reflections, and the official press conference where contestants unveiled their personal projects and aspirations.
Day Three brought teamwork and adrenaline on the pitch, further strengthening the bonds among the delegates.
Day Four transitioned into glamour with the swimwear photoshoot, alongside diary sessions and creative workshops at Reha’s House, where contestants reflected on growth and self-expression.
In just four days, the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 camp has already shown a perfect blend of beauty, resilience, and empowerment. From wellness and media engagement to sports and fashion, the contestants are not just preparing for the crown they are embracing sisterhood and self-discovery every step of the way.
The countdown now continues toward the highly anticipated finale, where one queen will emerge to represent Nigeria on the global stage.
