President Tinubu mourns Chief Audu Ogbeh, former PDP chairman and APC stalwart
President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences on the death of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a veteran statesman who served as chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and later became a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Chief Ogbeh passed away at the age of 78.
In a statement, President Tinubu paid tribute to Ogbeh’s long and distinguished career, highlighting his significant contributions to the nation’s political landscape. He noted Ogbeh’s intellectual prowess and his ability to articulate practical solutions to complex national issues.
“Chief Audu Ogbeh was a patriot whose wisdom, dedication, and pursuit of progress left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape,” President Tinubu said. “He was always ready with facts and figures to support his propositions. The nation will sorely miss his insightful perspectives and wealth of experience.”
Chief Ogbeh’s political career spanned several decades. He entered politics in the 1970s as a legislator and went on to serve as Minister of Communications during the Second Republic. He later served as the Minister of Agriculture under President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Tinubu extended his sympathies to the government and people of Benue State, as well as to Chief Ogbeh’s family, friends, and associates. He concluded by praying that God would grant eternal rest to the departed soul and comfort his family.
