President Tinubu Consoles Boxing Star Anthony Joshua Following Fatal Ogun State Crash
ABUJA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has personally reached out to Nigerian-British boxing icon Anthony Joshua to offer his condolences and support following a tragic road accident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The incident, which occurred in Ogun State, resulted in injuries to the former heavyweight champion and the heartbreaking loss of two of his close associates.
Speaking from abroad, the President engaged in a series of emotional telephone conversations to assess the situation and provide comfort to the grieving family. President Tinubu revealed that he spoke directly with Joshua, who is currently hospitalized, to convey his personal sympathies. During the call, the President offered prayers for the boxer’s recovery, noting that Joshua assured him he is receiving top-tier medical care.
