History is made as for the 1st time ever, Portugal win a major tournament by defeating France, 1-0, in the EURO 2016 Final.

Eder's goal gave the Portugal glory in the #EURO2016, defeating France 1-0 on a goal in the 109th minute to take home the #EURO2016 championship.

France dominated possession for large parts of the final, but Portugal held firm and shocked the home crowd in the Stade de France by taking the lead in the 109th minute.
The game had gone into extra time after finishing 0-0 in the 90 minutes.
Portugal seemed to havetheir word cut out for them after star striker and captain Cristiano Ronaldo was stretchered off injured in the first half, but they defended and finally got a goal 10 minutes from time when Eder’s precise strike beat France keeper Hugo Lloris.

The win is Portugal’s first major title after coming close many times – including a loss in the final against Greece in 2004 – but this was finally their year.
