US President-elect, Joe Biden has promised to reverse Donald Trump’s controversial Muslim ban on his first day in office.
Biden said he will issue of a number of executive orders, most especially, the travel ban on several predominantly Muslim countries.
Biden’s incoming White House chief of staff, Ron Klain, has circulated a memo in regards to this development on Saturday.
While Biden assumes office, the new US administration will launch a spate of reversals on policies implemented by US President Donald Trump over its first 10 days in office.
Biden also has plans around the deadly and ravaging Covid-19. He has promised to include new coronavirus prevention efforts, rejoining the Paris climate change accord, and immigration legislation allowing for millions to gain citizenship.
Going memory lane in 2017, Trump issued an executive order that banned travellers from seven Muslim-majority nations from entering the United States, Shortly after taking over as President of the US.
Despite legal challenges and a version of it was upheld by the Supreme Court in 2018 that order was, however, reworked several times.
