Some projects were on Thursday inaugurated in Ijebu Ode Local Government Area by the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun.

While reacting the development, Gov. Abiodun said he was committed to making local government areas viable, The Punch reports.

The governor, who was represented by the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Afolabi Afuape, said:Dapo Abiodun,

“This administration is ready and willing to make local governments in the state more viable, and not just mere salary-paying centres, we hope to get regular feedback from you, to enable us to know your priority needs.”

Among the plethora of projects inaugurated were: the 500 KVA Transformer at Isiwo; 500 KVA Transformer at Imupa; 20 Open Stalls at Abattoir Market, Yemule; Shopping Complex at Arcade Ground; and Shopping Complex at Oke Aje Market.

According to the Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, the release of funds by the governor added to the Internally Generated Revenue had greatly helped the local government in the execution of the projects.

Comments were also made by His Royal Highness, Oba A.S. Salisu, Lamodi of Isiwo, to appreciate the inauguration of a transformer in his community, bringing to an end, 12 months without electricity supply.
