President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a tough message to Boko Haram terrorists attacking the country saying they will pay heavily for their crimes.
The president said the action of the sect is provocative and inhuman. Buhari’s anger stems from the killing of a chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) by the terrorists. Lawan Andimi, who was head of the Michika local government area, Adamawa state branch of CAN, was abducted by the insurgents who carried out attacks on communities.
In a message posted on his personal Twitter handle, a visibly angry Buhari said his administration would “ensure that these terrorists pay a heavy price for their evil actions.”
President Buhari said it was more painful that the terrorists killed Andimi while they gave the impression that he would be released from their ‘den’. The president sent his condolences to the family of the CAN chairman and the Christians in the country for the act of the terrorists.
