A House of Assembly candidate who wants to represent Badagry constituency 1 under the ADC party in the next election Ovie Manuel Kuponu says, that coconut oil is more expensive than petrol in Badagry.

Politician Manuel stated this while speaking as a guest on the programme ‘Today on STV’, revealing the economic opportunities in Badagry.

Manuel stating how his political career started, having the idea to harness the political economy of Badagry, said after graduating from university in 2005, and founded a commenting newspaper called ‘The Voice’ in 2006, covered the Badagry corridor, for thirteen years.

Speaking on the reason Badagry has not developed despite its natural resources, the politician said, representation is not effective and creative enough, stressing that the right people have not been given the chance.

Manuel also revealed that the news paper became a house hold Name that people relied on for information because it has offered the people the opportunity to interact.

On utilising the creative opportunities that lies in Badagry, Manuel said coconut oil is more expensive than petrol in Badagry, emphasizing that industries can be set up to produce cream, and other products, thereby creating jobs for the people.

On his role so far,  amongst other things, he state that he staged a protest for power supply to be stable for six hours three times a week.
