Former vice president Abubakar Atiku intensified effort towards realizing his presidential ambition as he held meeting with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Adamawa and other states in the northeast at the weekend.

Atiku dumped the All Progressives Congress on Friday and had not announced his new party but his romance with PDP suggested that the former Nigeria number two man might be heading back to his former party.

Meanwhile, some PDP senators had appealed to Atiku to quickly make his arrival to the party a formal one. Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District and Senator Samuel Anyawu representing Imo East senatorial district said that the resignation of Atiku from APC would boost PDP.
