The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, has suspended a scheduled nationwide strike following a meeting with the group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru in Abuja.
The marketers had planned to down tools to press home their grievances on issues relating to products supply, equalization fund, access to forex and pricing of products.
Chairman of the IPMAN Committee on Forex Intervention, Products Sourcing and Distribution, Musa Felande, said the meeting with the GMD where peace was brokered addressed all the pending issues concerning the association.

Menwhile, the exploration and production arm of Shell in Nigeria – Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCO) has announced the shutdown of its flagship facility, Bonga Oil Field, for maintenance.
With this development, Nigeria’s oil production that ramped up to 2.1 million bpd has dipped to 1.875million bpd.
A statement by shell’s spokesperson in nigeria, bamidele odugbesan, said the shut down was for maintenance of the oil field.
