French football player, Paul Pogba is on the verge of going back to join Juventus on a free transfer.

Pogba, 29, has chosen an option to leave Old Trafford after his contract expired at the end of June, 2022.

Before completing the move, sources have disclosed that the midfielder who joined United from the Italian side in 2016 for a then world-record fee of £89m, will have a medical at the weekend.

The club has confirmed at the start of June that pogba would leave as a free agent this summer as both United and Pogba did not agree on a new contract.

All things being equal, Pogba is expected to begin training with Juventus next week prior to their trip to the United States, where they will face Barcelona and Real Madrid on 27 and 30 July respectively.

On the performance of Juventus in the Italian league, for the second straight season, Juventus finished fourth in Serie A, 16 points behind champions AC Milan.

With Pogba playing a key role in their title wins from 2012-13 to 2015-16, they had been Italian champions for the preceding nine seasons.
