Olympic track star Oscar Pistorius did not intend to murder his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, a judge has ruled. After a lengthy and high-profile trial and deliberation in South Africa, Judge Thokozile Masipa announced her verdict on Oscar's murder charge on Thursday, saying that, after reviewing the evidence, she had concluded that he was not guilty of the murder charge. However, Oscar still faces a manslaughter charge of culpable homicide, and the judge's ruling on that charge will be announced at some point on Thursday.
Oscar killed his girlfriend on Valentine's Day in 2013 while she was locked in his bathroom. The double-amputee sprinter, who gained fame for completing in the 2012 Olympics, claimed that he had shot into the bathroom because he thought that Reeva was an intruder.
