The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 1,531 personnel to ensure security during President Bola Tinubu’s official visit to Anambra State scheduled for Thursday, May 9, 2025.
The deployment, announced on Wednesday by the Anambra State Commandant of the NSCDC, Olatunde Maku, is part of a broad security strategy to safeguard critical national and state infrastructure, as well as public spaces during the presidential visit.
According to Maku, the officers will be stationed at key locations across the state to provide comprehensive security coverage. The security team will be drawn not only from within Anambra but also from adjoining states including Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Delta, ensuring reinforcement and operational synergy.
Speaking after a strategy meeting with senior officers, area commanders, divisional heads, and unit leaders at the state headquarters in Awka, Maku emphasized the NSCDC’s commitment to professionalism, crowd control, and public safety.
He added that the corps is working in coordination with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful and successful visit by the President.
