The hope of world No.1 tennis player Novak Djokovic playing in the Australian Open has ended after his deportation from Australia.

Djokovic got back to Serbia’s capital, Belgrade after losing a court challenge on Sunday against the Australian government’s decision to cancel his visa on public health and order grounds.

Meanwhile, the 34-year-old Serbian case has attracted a lot of reactions from people globally and his country, prompting crowds to gather at the airport on Monday, to welcome the back home, chanting his name and holding banners and flags in support.

The reaction to the situation, his fans back home anticipated his return by displaying some gestures after Djokovic traveled to Belgrade from Melbourne.

The evening before his arrival, a building in Belgrade was illuminated with the words “Nole [Djokovic’s nickname], you are the pride of Serbia.”
