NLC Protest Kicks Off In Lagos, Kano, Abuja

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has started its anticipated protests in Abuja, Lagos, and Kano, among other states.

Heavy security was in place at the Ikeja under bridge in Lagos as members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) began their statewide protests over the removal of the petrol subsidy.

Muhammed Ibrahim, the national president of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, as well as members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the National Union of Road Transport Workers, are currently gathered in Abuja’s Unity Fountain to express their outrage over the increase in fuel prices and the administration of President Bola Tinubu’s failure to change some of the NLC’s deemed “unfriendly” and “anti-poor” policies.
