The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced NINAuth, a new digital platform designed to streamline and secure identity verification processes using the National Identification Number (NIN). This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to enhance Nigeria’s digital identity infrastructure.
Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, announced that NINAuth offers a suite of services—including web, API, and mobile verification—to facilitate real-time authentication of NIN records. The platform is built to enhance data security, protect personal privacy, and simplify access to government services.
Key features of NINAuth include:
Enhanced Security: Protects personal data from unauthorized access.
User Control: Empowers individuals to manage their data-sharing preferences, requiring explicit consent before information is used for verification purposes.
Seamless Access: Provides a secure single sign-on solution for convenient access to various services.
President Tinubu has mandated the use of NINAuth across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for identity verification, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a unified and secure digital identity system.
Citizens and legal residents can utilize NINAuth for services such as SIM registration, passport processing, tax filings, financial transactions, and access to government intervention programs.
The NINAuth application is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. For more information and to access the implementation guide, visit https://ninauth.nimc.gov.ng.
