The eight abducted students and staff of the Nigerian Turkish International College, Isheri, Ogun State have been rescued.

The Ogun State Police Pubic Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed this to our correspondent.

He says the rescued victims would be presented to the governor today.

The AIG who was in Abeokuta yesterday on a one-day working visit to Ogun State had assured that the police in the zone were closing in on the abductors.

The kidnappers had requested for ransom but there was no clue wether ransom was paid for the release of the captives.

Three helicopters were deployed in the area to search the creek before the abductors' hideouts could be located.
