Nigeria Elections 2023: INEC Postpones Election In Bayelsa, Edo States

The 2023 Elections in Edo and Bayelsa States have been rescheduled by the the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu on Saturday evening said elections in 141 Polling Units in Bayelsa state and a senatorial district in Edo state have been rescheduled.

While giving update on Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election, Prof. Yakubu said election process was disrupted in four wards comprising 141 Polling Units in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state forcing the adhoc staff to express apprehension.

He also disclosed  that more Bimodal Voter Authentication Systems were carted away by thugs.

Prof. Yakubu also disclosed that elections in some local government areas in Edo have been postponed to March 11.
