African football icon Samuel Eto’o has confirmed no other foreign country on the continent is more special to him than Nigeria.
The Cameroonian, formerly of Barcelona, Chelsea and Inter Milan, is currently in Lagos to promote the Africa 5s event.
The 5-a-side games will be a continental tournament launching on 28 February.
With Eto’o getting his career breakthrough during the AFCON 2000 in Nigeria, the legend fell in love with the nation.
The said tournament helped Eto’o finish as the second top-goal scorer with four goals – including a goal in the final against Nigeria where Cameroon won on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
