The Super Eagles of Nigeria are out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, after losing 1-0 to Tunisia on Sunday, in the Round of 16.
The only goal of the match for Tunisia came from Youssef Msakni after he took a shot which was deflected and went into the net of the Nigeria.
Nigerian player, Alex Iwobi who came in as a substitute was given a red card in the match and sent off after he tackled a Tunisian player.
The goal came after Msakni’s shot from outside the 18-yard box was poorly parried into the net by Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria dominated the match from the beginning of the game to the 22nd minute before the Tunisian attackers started putting pressure on Nigeria’s defenders consistently.
After conceding a goal, the super Eagles of Nigeria made good attempts through Simon who played a major role when the Super Eagles won their group matches against Egypt, Sudan, and Guinea Bissau, but the attempts did not yield any results at the end of the day.
Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho got a yellow card in the 20th minute after failing to make better impact in the match.
