Nigeria on Monday made history in a qualifying match for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after beating Sao Tome and Principe 10-0  at the Grand Stade Agadir.

The win for the Super Eagles has been recorded as the biggest their biggest ever, better than the previous biggest win – a 10-1 victory over Benin in 1959.

Interestingly, the Super Eagles earned a deserved three points against the The Falcons and True Parrots of São Tomé and Príncipe after the match, after getting the same point in their 2-1 defeat of Sierra Leone at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Thursday.

The goals galore leaves Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen with four goals in their Day 2 encounter of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification series in Morocco.

Apart from achieving the feat of recording their biggest win ever in an AFCON qualifier, the Super Eagles are top of Group A.

Apart from victor Osimhen who scored in the 9th, 48th, 65th and 84th minute, others Super Eagles players who found the back of the net are: Moses Simon 28th, Terem Moffi 43rd, 60th, Oghenekaro Etebo 55th, Ademola Lookman 63rd, and Emmanuel Dennis who scored in the 90th plus 2 minute.

The next qualifying games for the Super Eagles are home and away games against Guinea-Bissau in September.
