Peabody and Sherman, the Pink Panther and now The Flintstones — at this rate, can more film adaptations be far behind? Warner Bros. is the latest studio to get 1960s cartoon nostalgia fever, putting an animated feature of The Flintstones into the works. A person with knowledge of the project says it’s in very early development — meaning it’s got a sea turtle hatchling’s chance — but the players behind it seem serious enough. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are executive producing through their Gary Sanchez Productions banner, with partner Chris Henchy (The Campaign) writing the script. Of course, the 1994 Flintstones movie had its share of big names behind it, too — Steven Spielberg produced with John Goodman, Rick Moranis, Rosie O’Donnell and Elizabeth Taylor starring.
